Thank you Linda (Rudd's Mommy)

Linda sent me a message from Taiwan to let me know that Gracyn's care package made it there safely. Check out her blog to follow her travels. She's done a wonderful job of being open and honest.

Digital Scrapping Therapy

Since Gracyn's referral pictures in November, we've only received updated photos once. That was back in April. Since we haven't received many updates, no videos, no new pictures, or even updates on what she's eating or what the circumference of her head was and is now, I decided to liven up her last pictures to make me feel like we have something new to share. . .yes, I'm in a bit of a down moment, so digital scrapping makes me feel better. It's like therapy.

Peytonism. . .

As Peyton was going bathroom this morning and has had hand tucked under his PJ shirt, he said to me, "Mom, my nipples are like ding dong's."

Too cute - he made the connection between his nipples and door bells. Interesting association but still cute, and show's he's really learning!

Care Package #4

I've been so lucky that other Mom's are willing to make room in their luggage to hand deliver care packages!!! This time, Linda, Rudd's Mommy is taking it with her on a very joyous trip - Linda is bringing Rudd home!! Rudd is in Ping Tung just like Gracyn!!

I kept the contents to a minimum this time. Well, sort of. I managed to get it all into a quart sized bag! That's small compared to the normal gallon-sized one I've been sending.

But, here's the thing - I got LOTS packed into it. I'm a great packer. I rolled the tank top and squeezed it into one slipper. And then, I jammed 5-6 links into the other. I saved space by not including an album of photos. I laminated them and put them on a ring. I had to include a toy - so, I sent a flip-phone. Hoping this will encourage "make-believe play" and that she'll be stimulated by the colors and sounds! Shorts are protecting the talking frame. Yes, we had to send our voices, and of course I almost forgot. I was just about ready to stuff and package up for mailing, when my dear "5-minute friend" called - She's not really a 5-minute friend, she's my life-line, but we've only known each other for a short time, hence 5-minute reference. Well, while on the phone, mind you, she's shopping at Ikea while I'm panicking trying to get this care package together before Peyton wakes up, she proceeds to ask what I'm sending. I mention the phone, and she says, "Oh the one where you record your voice?" - "WHAT?!" I say. ". . .there's a phone that records your voice?!" Followed by some not so good words of course. Yep, there's a phone that records your voice, but I don't have time to go get one, so she suggests a little photo key chain that you record your voice on to save on space and to save me from a trip to Target. And then I remembered. . .my Aunt gave me a small photo frame in which my cousin's laugh as a baby was recorded. How could I record over this special gift?!!! I took a picture of it, listened to her laugh a few times, reminded myself that she's now in kindergarten, and justified it as a good cause.

We recorded our voices. . .
Mommy: "Hi Baby, Mommy loves you."
Daddy: "and Daddy loves you.
Mommy: "Come home soon!"

Whew. . .we did it! Smallest, but hardest package I've put together yet. No camera this time - no room. But I was satisfied with the contents. Then panic set in - what if it doesn't arrive at Linda's in time?!!! I prayed - no worrying allowed - trust that God will get it there safely. Sure enough - it made it!!

Thanks Linda!!!!!

Happy Belated Easter

I needed to be done with the Easter stuff (in other words, I needed to toss some stuff out, but I came across the bunny ears that Peyton made at school, and realzied I never took a picture of them. I can toss guilt-free if the memory is captured in a picture. So, I asked him to put them on, and of course in order to convince him, I had to wear them and hop around like a bunny first. He agreed, but didn't really want his picture taken. . .Hmmmmm. . .he's already realizing how silly they look?? Was it that I looked so silly that he wasn't about to make a fool of himself?

I got them on and the wind was blowing just perfectly, so I snapped some shots.

Happy Belated Easter, folks.

Val - if you're reading this - it's for your sake. Yes, you guilted me into posting, so I'm up at 12:53AM BLOGGING. No pizookie filling my tummy (although I did have a few brownies) and they were quite yummy if I do say so myself. After all, they were from a box. And I had them with milk.

Not quite Heely's, but what do you do when he's 3?

Peyton has been asking for shoes with wheels. He sees kids at the mall rollin' around on their shoes. When we went to buy new "kicks" he asked for ones that roll. I felt so bad I was guilted into buying him skates. At least they roll, right?

No, I did NOT intentionally ensure that his Spider Man skates matched his shirt. But they do look good together, huh?!

But, YES, I did let him skate in the house - it's safer, right? On the rug? Not to mention he was still sick. How could I take him outside?!
