little mommy and the rock star

Gracyn is the reason why the term "little mommy" exists. Well, okay, okay. . . Addi is my doll, so I will take full responsibility for putting her in the cart, but guess who had a blast with it? Gracyn loves to feed Addi her bottles too!!! Best thing is, she doesn't charge me a dime!

And then, there's the boy of the household. . .the rock star. The only kid I know who sings, "I'm not an egg anymore, I'm not an egg anymore. . ." - I think it comes from a Wonder Pets movie. . .hmmmmmm. . .

Enough said. . .well, in reality, this is all I can type with one hand!! The doll pictured above really moves!! Don't worry, sitting on my lap while blogging is totally educational. Addi is already becoming pc literate and can type 10 words per minute!!

p.s.
I confess! She did cry a little. . .

I love you Addi boo!

Addi, you recently started rolling over, and this past Sunday Mommy discovered your first tooth breaking skin. It was a bitter sweet moment for your Daddy and me. We were tearing up at the thought of you growing up. Your brother on the other hand says, "Don't be sad, she's growing up, silly!". . .oh the things your brother says these days. He can make you laugh the best and Gracyn makes you smile. You're two forms of exercise include your glider and your jumperoo!! Boy can you do some serious jumping jacks. You love your bath time, and will often start to close your eyes on the changing station while I clean your ears. Mommy lathers you up with baby fresh vaseline to keep your skin soft and the itchies away. After bath you love to have a bottle, and then you most often prefer to be laid down by yourself. You will hold my finger with your left hand, and I know you're about to fall asleep when you finally settle in and turn your sweet head toward me and snuggle it against your bed. You talk a lot, and even though you're a very happy baby, when you're hungry, WATCH OUT - you can get pretty loud missy! When you stir in the middle of the night you like to hold onto my hand like a blankie. You chew and suck on my fingers, and you like to cover your face with my hand. Last night you fell asleep in my arms having your last bottle, and I took advantage of the opportunity and rocked you for nearly an hour while I smelled the top of your head and kissed you gently. Like Peyton, you have a paci, but you're also a thumb sucker. You most often suck your right thumb, and if you can manage to wrap the ribbon of your paci holder around your thumb, you'll do that and then stick it all in your mouth! You're just starting to eat baby food. You seem to like bananas and apples, then pears. You're not so sure about sweet potatoes (I don't blame you!), and peaches are kind of tart, huh? You still have peach fuzz for hair that I love to brush against my face and lips. You prefer to be carried forward facing so you can experience the world, and you can sleep for hours in your car seat. Addi, in six short months you have changed so much. You have grown, you have developed a lovable personality, and Mommy is so in love with you! I thank God for you every day and He must have had me in mind when He created you. . .don't grow up too fast Addi boo. Mommy is enjoying all that baby sweetness.

My Favorite ETSY Creator Revealed. . .

I am a big fan of ETSY. Over a year ago I discovered Kayla of Turtles R Us and she has been wonderful to work with.

She specializes in custom creations. She allows you creative freedom and is great at communicating with you on your products. I've ordered my cherry blossom diaper bag, complete with diaper changing pad, and a matching pouch for me, a diaper bag for my friend, headbands, clips, all of the kids' Halloween costumes, embroidered name tags to clip onto the kids' backpacks and jackets, gorgeous pettiskirts and coordinating rose buds (as pictured on Addi in the last post), apron knot dresses (think of the well-known designer often higlighted on blogs), and we're now working on summer wardrobe additions for the girls!

Click on her store to start a "convo" with Kayla. Been wanting something you've seen online but it's too pricey or are you looking for an ETSY creator you can trust? Send Kayla a picture and she will make it happen! (And for the record, I'm just a teency weency picky. . .shhh!!!!!) Kayla has never failed to deliver! Everything I've ever ordered has been cutsom.

Guess Who's Rolling Over?!

We set her down on her back and then heard her fussing. We found her on her tummy! We MISSED it. . .her FIRST roll. I quickly grabbed the video camera and she performed her stunt for me again as Peyton and I cheered her on! Yay! Good job Addi. My baby is rolling over. . .

There Mom. . .is that the look you were going for?! I think she's had enough of the camera in her face. Sorry Addi boo! Mommy's obsessed with the camera right now. Thank you for being my model!

A Five Year Old's Choice of Words. . .

While on the phone today with my fifteen five year old, I asked him to put Gong-Gong on the phone. He kept stalling talking so I kept hurrying him along. And then can you guess what he said?!

"Patient, Patient, Woman!" (With a laugh, and yes he was grammatically incorrect, but sounding oh-so-fifteen!)

Later tonight I asked him, "Why do you love me?" Can you guess what he said to this?

Peyton: "Because you give me what I want. . .and you're pretty, and sweet." (All with a boyish grin from ear to ear.)

Oh dear heavens. . .what do the years ahead hold???

(Practicing my panning. . .)

(Practicing Rule of Thirds)

Proof he REALLY is only 5. . .

. . .he's, ummmm, fishing in our water fountain. There's still some baby left in him, right?
